I decided last night that I have to stop being such a wuss, and rejoined the political debate. You can witness the slow-motion train wreck if you'd like.
I think I am doing better at keeping my sarcasm to a bare minimum. I admit it is very difficult. There was one post which the author edited (she thought better of it, even though she says she meant what she said) but I did read it before she changed it: she said that finding a quote from one of my posts embedded in someone else's reply was like stepping into a pile of dog shit. Nice, huh?
I admit that I get some satisfaction out of annoying them. Highlights (or, perhaps, lowlights):
"I only want those to vote who are voting for my candidate! :) "
"[George] Soros has excellent perspective and you're right - everyone should take the time to read [his website]."
"The funny thing is that I used to be a Bush supporter. I voted for him in the last election because I just couldn't stomach Gore. The more you post, the more I take out my anger on your candidate." (from the inspiration for this; she's still "there".)
There's more, of course, impugning my motives and calling me arrogant and whatnot. I admit it: I want people to hear what I have to say. I believe I'm right. I believe this election is important.
Still, I think my avatar's description is more apt than ever, over there: bootless. At least I know I tried.

Now why on earth would I delete that?
