On the other hand, I spent all weekend cooking and eating, as DS2 turned 11 and had a sleepover party, necessitating brownies, cupcakes, and fresh-squeezed orange juice, among other things.

I had a very kind and competent ultrasound technician and an equally kind and experienced radiologist for my FNA biopsy today.  

As these things go, that was the best so far.  The doctor used an absolutely tiny needle to administer the anesthetic, so it burned much less than it has in the past. My tumor marker is up, and I have small, but persistent, lymph nodes near my right submandibular salivary gland.

That's good news, of course, but frustrating since I don't feel well.  Today is my first day on amitriptyline. It's supposed to prevent the headaches, which the neuro is convinced are migraines. For the last 3 days the headache has wobbled at around a 2-3 on the 10-point pain scale, but today it ratcheted up -- I may have found my trigger: stress -- suffice it to say, extended family worries, pending exams, and a bit of fussing with the kids this morning are not a good combination, so at 9AM I took my first pill. Top of the list: Sonora Quest did not send my blood work out to CA for testing after my Thyrogen trial, so I don't have my results yet.  Oh, they ran the test themselves and everything came back negative, but their tests aren't as sensitive and are not comparable to my previous results. I fall asleep in front of the tv (or computer) and then wake up and stay up, instead of hauling myself off to bed.  How late? The first part of the concert was an extended song/story, interspersed with Christmas classics and original pieces, that told the story of an angel, a lonely man, and his daughter far from home on Christmas Eve.  Through the intervention of the angel and the kindness of strangers, she's able to go home on Christmas Day. We wanted to talk to them about Windows 7 and see what they were offering.We ended up buying DD's birthday-Christmas computer, an Asus Eee.  It's pink! And it came with Windows 7 Starter as its OS. The cold has dwindled into nothing more than an annoying post-nasal drip, and eventually that will be gone, too.
